Need Tires! Enter Here, Need The Help!
Hey guys,
finally got around to getting enough money and I want to get some kickass tires. I am thinking drag radials for sure, size would have to be 17's. I currently have 245/45/17 as my wheels are the SLP option chrome 10-spokes. I would like to know whats the biggest size that could fit safely on this rim. I haven't went to the strip and don't plan to until I make more power. I only drive my car during the summer months will see about 1k-1.5k miles per year. I thought by getting a drag radial I will be setting my car up for the future in terms of transplanting my power to the ground. I have seen many people say 275/40/17, 285/40/17 are basically the standard. I have been looking at BF G-force R1's, Nitto NTO5r, NT555r, among others. I would like others input as to what tires, the car doesn't see rain ever (if I can prevent it).
Currently mods:
Headers (pacesetter)
UMI Subframe connectors (boxed, weld in)
waiting to be installed:
UMI LCA (on car adjustable with roto joint and poly bushings)
UMI Double adjustable PHB in chrome moly (on car adjustable)
Cold air intake (k&n)
Waiting to purchase:
Lowering springs

TTT. Also I don't daily drive this car, maybe 1k-1.4k miles per year. No strip use currently until more mods are done, just some fun on the streets. I am wanting to purchase some tires in the coming week and get them mounted sooner rather then later. Cost is not an issue, I have heard Nitto's run small and I have also been looking at BF Goodrich tires.

Thats where I'm stuck at.
I am looking at the following options:
1) BFGoodrich KDW 2
2) Nitto NT05
3) Nitto NT05r
4) Nitto NT555r
5) Toyo Proxes TQ
All sizes would be 275/40-45/17. Maybe get bigger on the nitto's if they are offered (since they run smaller). Like I said I don't plan to strip race it, only street for right now. But then again it never sees rain and is usually stored by nov. These 5 options look to be the ones for me. To help narrow this list, I am looking for the stickiest tire between these 5 with somewhat good tread life. I will also like somewhat high end speed handling if possible and somewhat of a good ride.
