Budget 355?
So long story short I'm pretty sure my car spun a rod bearing racing an ls1 car the other night. While I'm in there fixing that I figured I would at least throw some forged parts in. From what I've heard the stock crank SHOULD (maybe someone running one can chime in) be strong enough to re-use. I would just throw some forged rods and pistons in and call it a day. I was spraying 150 through a plate kit on the stock motor so with the forged stuff I am probably gonna want to hit it with a 200. Anyone have any suggestions on some budget friendly forged rods/pistons? Will the stock crank handle the 200 shot safely? Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Thats what ive done with mine and plan to down the road hit it with a 150 shot
My 355 consists of:
Stock Crank Cut/Polished
Forged Eagle 6" H Beam Rods
Forged Mahle 5cc Powerpack Pistons
ARP Studded Mains
ARP Rod Bolts
Bought it used with low low miles on it but had it overhauled and everything done correctly as it wasnt and showed when we pulled it apart. Paid 1000 for it and put 1200 into the re and re.

Just finished up my 355 build and I used my stock crank, scat 6" I beams and srp pro series pistons... I wouldn't hesitate to throw a 200 shot after some tuning but I also got some howards 4 bolt splayed mains in there. I'll throw a build thread up here in the next couple days...

stock crank will do way more than you can throw at it.......set of scat I beams with 7/16 cap screws and a set of srp pro series pistons and call it a day.......make sure its balanced well.......add .0005 to the PTW for the nitrous and gap the rings for nitrous also.......and have fun
