Question would a cc306 cam work with aluminum decked and ported heads on lt1

I have a 95 camaro and im looking to put a cam in it. the heads are aluminum that have been ported decked and polished. idk if it would make a difference. but I want to make sure. haha. would it work it my lt1. and what ratio roller rockers should i use to peak power to be around 6000rps?

I ran a CC306 in my 94 B4C back in the day. I milled the heads .040 and ran 1.5 roller rockers because I was afraid of PTV clearance. I turned it 6500rpm for 3 years and had no issues. The car ran well. It trapped 114mph with just milled heads, CC306, e-water pump, Hooker LTs, Mufflex y-pipe, hooker cat back and 4.10 gears.

If you want peak power about 6000rpm then that is completely the wrong cam. If the heads are decent then I would expect that to peak a good400+rpm higher and then need to turn higher yet.

I have milled heads, decked block, 1.6 rockers, and SRP 11.75:1 pistons and I have been spinning 7k rpms for a few years now with no problems with the CC306

But I agree with the above post, peak power is ~6500 with this cam

CC306, Ported Dart Pro-1s on a stock 72K mile bottom end going through a T56 and a 12 Bolt. I don't think you would give up much shifting at 6K but all said and done, a lot better choices out there. Some of these newer grinds are impressive and it would have been cool to do a custom cam with this set up because I imagine it would have made more power.

It's not if its a problem. Its where its gonna peak at and keeping it in the powerband.
