BMR springs and heater hose mod need feedback
I have been getting irritated at the rake that is present with the BMR springs. I know it's not the springs fault they are lowered the same from front to back. I spoke the a representative at BMR to see if there were any products that would level it out. He told me to use the heater hose mod. So what I need is some feedback from some members that have done this to see if there are any damage from this method. I come from the school that says if it can't be done right don't do it. So this whole hose mod is a little on the rigged side if you know what I mean. But I am going to give it a shot just tho see the stance. So I purchased two 1 foot sections of 1/2 inch heater hose and two sections of 3/4 hose. I plan on sliding the 1/2 over the spring and then sliding the 3/4 over that just for a little more protection. So another question is will this mod be silent or will there be unwanted noise from the spring shifting around or any obvious damage to the body where the springs are seated? I have seen where a lot of members have done this but I havn't seen anywhere someone has reported any ugly **** cropping up from this mod. Thanks for time guys.

They said it drops the rear 3/4 of an inch. I dont need all that. Just looking to level it out a bit. I am concerned with damage to the body of the car. I mean it has 18,500 on the clock. That spring isolator is there for a reason. Think about it.

i think you would be ok with one layer.before i lowered my car i did the hose mod and wen i put lowering springs in 6 months later i checked and all was fine where the spring meets the body

thats what i needed to hear. That isolators second purpose is to distribute the load of the spring across a greater area. Was this a daily driven car? If it was I can't see any real long term damage as long as the hoses are checked periodically. Also I do have 315's and the rim by design sticks out just a hair over the OEM setup. So the extra hose may provide the clearance. I should have laid it all out for ya. LOL

I am gathering parts for my setup :
BMR front lowering springs
Stock rear springs for now to see how the VT Isolator works, looking for a rake in the stance
SLP/Bilstiens at all 4 corners
New Moog upper and lower mounts and isolators
BMR adjustable panhard bar
Wheels and Tires next

I believe you spoke with me. It's good to see that you're looking for further informaiton to do things right.
Here are some visual ideas of where the car will sit after you've performed the "heater hose" mode to you car. From all accounts we've seen - including personal cars - this mod is safe and hadn't created any problems that have been brought to our attention.

^ That's sitting damn nice, props on the stance for whoever's car that is. I just don't like the idea of pretty much bare spring against the body, it can't be good and it's gotta make some noise i would think.

Kevin, is that with the heater hose mod done to YOUR rear springs or the factory rear springs? Also, what is your experience with lowering the rear with 17 x 11's and 315's? I'm not interested in rolling fenders, etc. The bump stops have already gone down the road...

ive had the hose mod on my car for 2 years now, and I have no issues/noises from it. I do not do things half *** either. I feel that the hose mod is a great way to mod our F-bodys for basicly free.
