I want to have the muffler bypass mod done on the stock exhaust on my 03z, I have the ti tubing and rod Im trying to find someone that knows how to work with ti. Im in the Reading, PA area, let me know if anyone in the surrounding areas can do this.

Here's a pic of what I'm looking to have done:

I recently took a TIG welding class in boston. The instructor's regular job was TIG welding high end titanium bicycle frames. So if you don't find anyone you could search for a high end bicycle shop in your area, not sure if they would take it on or not.

Check with the Mod here (fireball) has a nice tig setup and has done stainless for me. He is real close to cecil county dragway.

titanium usually requires welding in a 100% inert environment. Probably not critical on an exhaust application, but I'm not going to experiment with it

Brian is correct, welding titanium where it can oxidize before cooling can cause enbrittlement. My weld procedures call for maintaining an inert shield to below 650F

My shop can weld titanium, but Im not going to lie to you, my costs to do it will be extraordinarily high.

Thanks for all the feedback, I have read that it's not the easiest metal to weld. I contacted PA Z06 over on CF, he uses a guy in Trenton, NJ that has done this mod on several sets of ti exhausts. I'm going to take it to him.
