Default LS7 Lifter Fail Again.

Drove the car last year and put 7 or so miles on it and ran mint other then some float at 6k but i never really had it there many times other then tunning just street driven it. This year i replaced the PAC 1518s with some Crane 99893 Double springs which Lloyd sold me to use with his cam i have in the car. Put about 500 miles on the car once i got it back from tunning to have a lifter bleeding up and down. Figured with 7k miles of driving and float issues it may have done some damage let alone the new springs being alot higher pressure. Anyways just took it to the race shop to put new ls7s again in as llyod said it should be fine among others. I just got it back from the shop yesterday and just went to go move the car and now its ticking again! WTF do i do now?

Is somebody else working on your car? Perhaps they adjusted the lifters incorrectly.

It's not the lifters, it's the adjustment.

Either that or the springs are ****. Were they new Crane springs? I used those for a GM847 cam and had terrible valve float above 6200rpm.

Install a set of Manley Nextex springs and give it a try. If lifters are still ticking put a set Morel race lifters and be done with it.

He said LE spec'd the springs so I would hope they arnt used.

How aggressive is your cam?

what are the spring specs? I was going to run patriot 8501's at stock height instead of 1.800 and LE said the seat pressures would be to much for the ls7 lifters. Thats 155 closed and 375-410 open. If your running more pressure then that then maybe thats why the lifters are bleeding down?

Are you sure its bad ticking? LS7 lifters make noise, people complain alot about it. Mine tick, between roller rockers and the ls7 lifters its hard to say which is making more noise, but it hasnt blown up yet so I keep driving it lol.
