dissapointing track night.
A little disappointed. 84 degrees on street tires first time running....tada! 14.09 at 102.7mph w/ a 2.4x 60ft...cone filter no cat tune...was hoping for more.

Haha...yeah I figured with the 102.7 trap I could probably pull a 13.5ish with tire. I couldn't get consistent runs...an lt1 blew up and closed the track for an hour. No bullshit.

Yep mph is there. Just need to get your 60' down to a 2.0 and you'll see mid to low 13's.
And is every thread going to talk about how shitty lt1's are? Everyone does know ported heads and a cam will net them around 400 rwhp.
Don't get me wrong I love my car, but then again I probably wouldn't own it if I didn't have a reason for 4 doors(19 month old daughter). People are always going to say are cars suck bc there fwd and have tranny issues( even though just about any car you start modding will either need a built trans or clutch). So who cares just go out and enjoy your cars.

I wanna be like you dog ***** so I'm changing my name to brownhole. Now we can both have ambiguously gay names. I don't even skate this names from 14 years ago from all my screen names. Are we ready to squash this? Were all inferior to hondas. I even held a straight face. Ironically my auto spell turns Honda into bondage. But seriously I was just defending my ls4 bros. I got a set of mt radials and a ported manifold going on next tues. I will post some low 13s when the weather cools down. And I will change my user name. So nice again can't we all just get along?

If I were to have to get a daddy mobile, G8 GT FTW! Love the looks of them, so I'm pretty biased though

I actually like the look of my impala...I went out looking for one. This is my second SS. No trans issues. The 08 with 22,000 miles I got for 14,200 so I couldn't pass it up. I do love the look of the g8 but at almost twice the price, with buying a new house and knowing my wife would realize I've bought 2 cars since she bought one...I would pay dearly for that. I'm just gonna skip lunch for week and buy an lt1 camaro. (Kidding relax) if I decide I want a race car...ill probably ls swap a fox body. Because those are the fastest foxbodies lol. I bought a four door grocery getter with no expectation of joining the fast and the furious. But I will never leave a car stock. I can't do it.

Yes....or you could go pimpmobile and get an sts-v. I was at heritage cadillac this weekend, there was a few cts-v sedans. They were 77500. I know I'm a baller with my high performance sedan (did I mention the heated seats and xm) but that's a little rich for my blood. I like to keep my car payment lower than my mortgage. But hell come to think of it...they would have to catch it to repo it.

I just priced one online the way I'd like it (sunroof, auto, gray, polished wheels) and I'm coming out with $69,655 msrp.
Regardless, the finance major in me would have a hard time spending ~$70k for a new CTS-V when I look online and see 09s for low-mid $40's. Talk about driving it off the lot and losing your ***! But I guess the same argument can be made for my brand new jet ski which will likely be worth 60% of the purchase price in 2 years time. I just wanted something I knew the maintenance was done for

There was a guy named Tonygxp who ran 13.6's with his stock gxp. https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-perfo...-102-37-a.html I think he ended up going faster with a few basic tricks. 2 door Monte SS https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-perfo...-104-95-a.html Factory freak or down hill track lol
Imho.. The f-body should be faster, since its a true muscle car. We all know that the G8 replaced the Grandprix right? Thank you Pontiac!
There is nothing wrong with a fwd Ls4 5.3. I would rather have a LS based V8, then a inline 4 or northstar. Fwd does have its advantages "as a comuter"
303hp out of the box with 2.93 gears, pulling 3800+ lbs loaded, goes pretty good. I nailed plenty of 2.0 60fts. when stock.
The magazine writers don't know how to drive and they let the car **** into 3rd, rather then holding second tell 6000 rpm.

Yeah, the G8s suffer from the same problem. Need to hold the gear versus letting car shift through the traps
Chevy is supposed to be coming out with a G8 replacement. Hopefully it looks decent. Look up 2014 Chevy SS
