Default Is it worth it to have my 243 heads cnc ported?

I was thinking about having my 243 heads cnc ported with a valve job done this winter. Is it worth the price to do this? I have mods in sig. Car made 380whp on a mustang dyno at West Bend dyno in WI. How much could ported 243's pick up? I want to get 400+ on there mustang dyno. Future mods are: Bigger headers, 92/92 and true duals.

Yes you will gain power by porting the 243's. A.I, TEA, Livernois, and WCCH do some of the best porting on those heads.

You and only you can tell this.

Ask yourself, is $1000 worth the 30rwhp gain you will be getting?

The problem with "is it worth it" questions is that can vary, some people will think it's laughable to spend a grand and only get 30hp. To some people, a grand spent to gain 30hp is a helluva deal.

I was going to have Wegner Motorsports in WI do the work. They chare $650.00. 30rwhp is a nice gain. I just wasn't sure how much more power could be had by porting stock 243's.

I looked at Wegner ported 243s at Comp Products in Oshkosh and even
called them for flow info and the guy said "hey I can't brag 300 plus cfm but
my low and mid lift numbers are what I focused on"....they do look really nice
and with your larger cam I'm sure you'll see at least 25-28 rwhp at WB dyno.

Look at my sig. I vote for TEA stage 2 all the way. If you really wanna get the most do what chris^ says. If I would have spent more time researching I would have gone with the ls3 valves also. BUT, Im very happy with the heads anyway. 429/392 mustang dyno.

I made 405 rwhp with a 236, 240 cam, stock 853's. Went to a 230,238 cam, AI CNC ported heads and went to 432 rwhp, so about a 30 rwhp gain.
