Default Bilsteins with stock SPRINGS?

Did some searching and didn't come up with a great answer to my question.
Looking to upgrade my shocks and the Konis are tempting but the Bilsteins seem like they will fit the bill well for what I need. Just looking to upgrade the ride quality over my 100,000 mile DeCrappins.
Does anyone here use Bilstein shocks with the stock springs? Not really looking to lower my car (aside from maybe the hose mod). Wondering if these will make my car sit any higher than it does now and wondering how the ride quality on this combo is. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

LOL just put em on and dont worry about the thread title. They are one of the best shocks available. Poly bushings for the fr/rr sways and some decent tires. Nitto 555R on the rear and 555R2 on the front and thank me later. That car of yours will be transformed to a whole new animal with them mods'

Just dont blame me when you decide you want more powa!!!

Thanks for the advice! Plenty of powa for now! Much more than my stock 10 bolt will be able to take for much longer at least...

Tons of people out there who've got Bilstiens and stock springs. Basically what should have come with the car from the factory.

My buddy has the Bilstiens with stock springs on his T/A, it is truly amazing how great it rides and how planted it feels (especially on rougher roads) compared to my car with the Decarbons. I say go for it, I'll definitely be investing in a set in the future as well.

I had the stock springs with the bilsteins and it was perfectly fine. It will take a little bit for everything to settle. My wife has a bad back and even commented how well the car rode and how it felt much more stable in turns.

I see nothing wrong with the setup, especially for a daily driver.

I was considering the same, but also thought about some springs. SLP's eibach spring and bilstein combo are tempting. Any opinions on that combo?

Did anyone replace the strut mounts while doing the struts?

I'm running stock springs with my Bilsteins and they are a huge upgrade over the stock DeCarbons. As far as replacing the mounts, it depends on if you're able to get the shock nut off without damaging the mount, which often isn't the case. If you have to replace the mounts, go with the Moog brand rather than the store brand, and don't forget about the isolator.

yes, I travel the interstate where tha average speed is 75 or so and mine used to have that floating feeling going over concrete joints in the interstate but with the bilsteins it's alot better.

That is fantastic to hear. Definitely the worst part about my car right now. Every little bump in the road at 65+ felt like I was going to fly into the other lane.

Just ordered up my Bilsteins from WS6store along with some new zinc coated rotors and Hawk ceramic pads! I'll get some pics up once I get everything installed

No. They were an option on some cars, but not standard.
SS's and WS6's got "better" valved decarbons, but IMO were still **** (I have a WS6 - the decarbons still might as well be paper weights if you want good performance or ride).

All good to hear, I definitely need new struts and brakes. Both will be done during storage this year, undecided on springs. Any others that work well with the Bilsteins.

Sounds like its a good idea to just get the front mounts and isolators as well. Ive got a good understanding of the frount, is there a mount and isolator in the rear as well that could use replacing?

Lightbulb

Nope, stay away from moog replacement mounts & isolators- compare side by side w/OEM and you will see how much smaller the isolator is on Moog's.
