Default Me and my Buddies almost Stock LS1s

I ran a 13.512 at 105 to my buddies 13.519 at 104 on a hot muggy Florida night

His is an A4 3.23 with SLP LM1 and Lid only

and mine is a M6 Borla muffler and no lid

We are going to keep them bolt on cars and we want to know with just Lid and Cat backs if the tune is worth it or should we wait till we do more to our cars and he doesn't get on forums much but I told him a 4000 Converter in the LS1 would be good but he thinks its to high would a 3600 be better for a Street driven car??

If the a4 doesn't see a lot of track duty then a 3600 will be plenty...

As far as the tune goes it will squeeze out a little more power But I would put that money into hard parts like headers, intake, lid, etc..

^^I agree, but I would wait until you gather all the bolt-on's you want and have them on the car, then go ahead and get a mail order or possibly even a dyno tune if you're really not going to mod past bolt-on's.

Gotcha yeah he thinks his car wont see the track much but I got him out there and I'm sure he will be hooked now but seeing as the local track has a bunch of talk that it will be shut down I'm not sure but yeah I'm going to do all the bolt ons then a Rear then go from there I want to get it pretty low into the 12's before I do anything motor wise and seems a lot easier to do in this vs my old LT car

Unless you plan on having a lot of disposable cash for constant upgrades I would think 3600 would be fine. I would definitely hold out as long as possible for the tune though. I just got a new cam, headers, gears, a torque converter, a shift kit and machined my heads and I'm still going to wait till I get my intake to get the tune.

I'll def fill him in about the stall I'ma keep mine as is for a while I think he is going to start on his a little sooner but I want to help him pick the right stuff he's new to the car scene and I told him Yank was the brand to get I had an Edge 3800 in my LT car and liked it but I'm telling him his mods need to be

3.73s
Stall
Headers
Not obnoxious catback (Like He has Now) lol
Shift Kit
LS6 intake

Think it should run pretty good and he will be happy with it then

And free mods... Other then that seems like a hell of a start and tires do some research on a good size tire for what ever gear ratio he goes with. What is wrong with LM1 lol at least you know when he is near by

With the stock manifolds its loud so I can see it being absurd with the headers he has. And I'm sure he will go with a 26' tire and run 3.73's like I did in the old car it is a street car so he wants to keep it street friendly and I won't even put a dime into the 10 Bolt I'm getting a rear in the thing before anything else gets done
