Being plagued by leaking exhaust gaskets, so far I have replaced them 3 times this year and I am getting tired of pulling the header off time and time again. Seems like every time I head out to the track and load the car good within two passes the exhaust starts to leak then the ramp rate suffers was leaking so bad last night the S480 only got 6.5 psi before I packed up and headed back for home. Just want to get a good set don't care if there 200.00 dollars just want something that can take the increased exhaust pressure.

What are you guys running on your motors, mine keep blowing through the centers of the gaskets. I have used different brands felpro, Mr Gasket each time but keep having the same thing happen.

Try some GM exhaust gadgets and spray some copper sealant on them and used blue blue locktite in the bolts..

Might even want to look into the bolts that lock and can't spin. I forget what those are called

percys carbons are garbage. they blow out on bolt on cars let alone bosted.

number one setup is stockers with copper spray, if u blow out layers of stainless, u got other issues.

i hear so many ppl say "i dont care how much it costs". i laugh bc it doesnt take money to make something right. it takes knowledge/skill. and usually is not the overpriced items that work best. stock gaskets will not blow out. period.

I am just sick of tearing it down and putting it back together so often, probably already have 100 plus dollars in the exhaust gaskets alone.

Car only has 1200 miles and maybe 12 track passes and this keeps happening, I didn't use blue locktite but I have checked the bolts tight every time I went out in it since I put this set on, bolts never came loose except after the first heat cycle which is expected got about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn out of them.

Also you mention copper spray? Who makes it? Where can I buy it?

I have copper silicone in a tube and it seems to have worked good at the V bands, they don't and never have leaked, but I never used it on the flange to head seal, just cleaned them with a scotch brite pad on a drill and put it back together. Will this stuff work there?

Also check the manifold face is flat, may need to have them surfaced.

don't use blue loctite, it's not rated for that temperature anyway.

Stock MLS gaskets here. I had one leak but it was because the manifold wasn't flat. I've had it machined flat now, no more leaks.

Yea I've always used stock bolts and just get em tight. I've never had any walk out on me.

U can get the copper stuff pretty much anywhere, I got mine at summit but I'm pretty sure auto parts store has it.

I'd recommend the spray over the tube, the spray is about the same consistency of carpet adhesive. Super sticky. Once it's stuck, it's sealed for good

I re-use the stock ones on everything. Some aftermarket ones came with a set of headers once and I threw them out. Cant beat the stock ones.
