Picked up a set of z06 replicas for cheap, wondered if I can throw 275/40/18 instead of 35 series on?? I can save close to $300 with this tire size as opposed to 35 series, not to worried about 1-3mph inaccuracies on the speedo. I'm at stock height and the wheels are 18x9.5" with the 50mm offset.

searched, just want to make sure, im at stock height but the old 275/35/18 s that were on there were worn on the corners but idk if the person who had them was lowered

Anyone else have anymore input? Looking to pick up the tires soon before they go off sale. I have searched and nobody has given a direct yes or no. My suspension is stock and from what I have read going from the 35 series to the 40 series is only adding total 1".

I would appreciate the input.

I'm running 275 40 18 on my 85 Trans am with 18x9.5 and the difference in ride quality is amazing. So much better.

thanks for the input, i have also heard going from a 35 series to 40 is a world of difference in ride comfort... anyone else input on the clearance on a 4th gen????????

I have 255/40r18 in the front and 275/40r18 on the rear and I have no rubbing problems, and my car is lowered with strano springs.

It shouldn't be a problem even if you lower it, but there's always a chance you'll have some ABS issues.

I have the same set up, 275-40-18 with 18x9.5 and never had any problems. The ride is very nice.

youll be fine your talking about a 3/4 inch of height. ride will not be a noticable difference the ride really has to do with the tire you pick. and how picky you are everyone is different

Thanks again for all the input guys. Kuhmo ASX All seasons are up for sale for 600 shipped at that size, every other size (265/40, 265/35, or 275/35) a set of tires is up in the 800 range. And coincidentally I have had very good experiences with the ASX series from Kuhmo on my past vehicles.

This also makes me almost positive that the guy that I bought the wheels off of was lowered. The corners/shoulders of the tires had terrible signs of rubbing from what looked like either the fender or steering knuckle (and he was running 275/35/18 all around).

Does Nitto drag radial come in a 275/40/18 that's the size what's on my 94 Z28 now, i'm planning on going with the nitto 555r over the winter can't find this size nowhere..

My bad, thought you just wanted them on the rear.
IMO, 275/40/18 F & R should be no problem.. If by some chance the abs light does come on you can change the tire size with any hand held programmer, or take it to your local tuner and have him do it.

BTW, don't know if you've bought tires yet but you can get the Falcon FK 452's for $583.88 and the Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance for $591.92 both shipped from DTD.

When doing a search for tire sizes, I always type it both ways: xxx/xx/xx AND xxx/xxRxx. You might have pulled up my thread if you typed in the latter.
