**Valve Spring Recommendations**

Please consider my Dual Polished Platinum spring kit, part number SK001. With 155 lbs on the seat they will control valve seating/bounce better than the 1512, yet are only 380 lbs @ .600" lift to ensure valve tip durability. These springs were the best of the bunch in the spintron testing that I was involved in. http://www.briantooleyracing.com/660...retainers.html

I can tell you that spring pressure is a balancing act between controlling the valve train and pole vaulting the pushrods. Simply throwing more spring pressure at the valve train isn't the best approach, especially if stock rocker arms are used.
For what it's worth, the winner of the LS Fest True Street class this past weekend was sporting the Platinum spring kit. Anthony Peck went back to back 8.50's-8.60's and then ran a 8.31 @ 166 later in testing. His 1/8 mile was still off a tenth compared to his best of 5.20's @ 133. His LS2 402 actually has a complete BTR top end consisting of a custom set of TFS 235 heads with PM guides, BTR custom spec'd hydraulic roller cam, pushrods, and STOCK rocker arms.
The cam lobe design is really the foundation of a stable valve train.

Thanks... Other than the info I put in the OP, I currently don't know what else to go w/ in order to determine which spring I need to run. I do want to run a dual spring though. I've already dropped 1 valve... I don't want to drop another one.

The fastest ramp speed cam lobes that I use with stock rockers are the LSL which is what the LSr shelf cams use. The LXL are a little softer and work better for durability, some of the Extreme Marine, HUC, Extreme RPM for LS1, and Cheater HR lift rule work well too.

With stock rockers you want to stay away from super fast ramp speed cam lobes and high lift, keep the lift below .630".
