Default Double row timing chain + Meling 10355 oil pump

Hello guys, I am pretty fresh to al LS stuff, therefore looking for some recomendations to buy a double timing chain kit for my LQ4 build, since engines is used with quite some milage on it and I am planning to use a two turbos, I have been thinking of getting Meling 10355 pump which has +30perc. more volume, that would be more then enough to compensate for turbo oil feed. And the last thing, is there a chance that I could fit those both things together: double row chain kit with this high volume pump. Any experiances?

There may be some out there, but the double rollers we carry interfere with the melling oil pumps. Fwiw, our ported and shimmed LS6 pump with a Rollmaster Double Roller timing set are a known successful working combination...

We typically don't see any issues with stock pumps.

Did you have to clearance the front cover or part of the pump for it?

in my opinion the best double roller bang for your buck is the jp performance double roller....... it is the EXACT same thing as a slp double roller... because slp buys them from jp and used there own boxes..... im using a jp double roller setup with a ported ls6 pump and i had to clearance the timing cover but only slightly....

Since I am on tight budget I decided to go with LSA/ L99 oil pump and JP double row timing chain kit.

I used the edelbrock 2 piece cover that had to have a lot of work done to it. They don't clear even with a single roller. So with that being said I can't state if the stock cover would need to be clearanced. As far as the oil pump it was fine, I however did smooth it out incase the chain would happen to ever get slack in it.

Can you still use the chain damper on the double row setup?

You will need to remove the dampner.
