4th gear shudder/surge
Ive been experiencing a surging when my car is trying to shift into 4th gear. It only happens between 50-60 mph. Ive tried manually putting the car into 3rd to make sure that it isnt a problem somewhere in that gear, and it has no surging at any speed, but as soon as i put it into drive, it begins to surge if im between 50-60mph. If i am driving more spirited and OD/4th would kick in past 60mph, i have no issues whatsoever.
I was thinking maybe the torque converter lockup solenoid, or the break sensor switch, but both of those ideas sound kind of stupid because it only happens at a certain mph and not all the time

I think this is the same problem as in this recent thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...g-shudder.html
IMHO it is the normal side-effect of running a hot cam. The solution is to change the tune to not engage the TCC until 60 mph.
However, I'm no expert in this area.

I have a similar issue. i dont know if it is because i have tamed myself after the the new stall was put in but at a similar speed just easing into my cruising speed the OD i assume seems to bounce in and out. No LED's in rear high mount light. I took them out and added regular bulbs. Didnt change. I notice in the morning or cold mornings the car doesnt do it until it is warmed up or later on that day to drive home. i have chaecked cruise control and the brake switch all are good. i have and edge performance converter rated at a true 3400. 2:73 rear end with a frost tune. The tune was done before the stall and nothing was setup for the stall afterwards tune wise. I have scanned codes with nothing found and last my fluid is bright red and level as far as i can tell. I hope this helps and maybe we can find an answer from a trans builder.

I experience some cam surge at low rpm, like 1500@40 with lockup. Goes away with increased speed/rpm around 2000@55. Didn't do it when lockup was set at 2000@55 rpm.

nope. Actually, come to find out, my issue came from an ignition problem. A plug/wire wasn't sparking and blowing up the gas, causing it to shudder at low rpm, then got worse as time went on. It began missing at all rpm/speeds. No longer an issue, has been fixed. Lockup is back to 1500@40, no weirdness.
What I notice now is the inherent slop in the drivetrain getting slapped back and forth at little to no throttle under low rpm lockup. That is from the cam surging and doesn't cause problems with the converter or trans or rear end. The converter lockup clutches are set to 80%, and is not an issue of the lockup kicking in and out. It just slightly engages and disengages the power through the rest of system, which handles the 500 hp of the engine all day long.
