Default LQ4 for 2006 Raptor 700

i found a basically brand new motor from craigslist and the guy would trade me straight up for the raptor but i would have to drive to pick up motor and drop of atv but to any of you out there kno about the trade if it would be bold to do such a trade...he is asking 3500 for a fresh rebuilt 6.0 lq4 with 317 heads and a hot cam would this bolt right up to my t56? i have all the supporting mods to beef up the motor and i think this will be a good idea jus need some peoples 2cents

I would imagine it would bolt right up. only thing that scares me about the deal is you don't know what this guy means by "Fresh" and even if he can prove by receipts, can you trust who did the work? I dunno that's a nice quad, so unless you can verify who did the work on the motor and you know they do good work, I would sell the quad then build my own LQ4 from there. just my 2 cents.

I haven't been inside an LS variant yet, but I know with LT1s I cringe when I hear "rebuilt" because more often than not there are parts used that are a step backwards from stock. Hell even on "performance builds" guys love to use things like pistons that are 15% HEAVIER than stock or strokers with Eagle cast cranks that are much weaker than stock.

For $3500 IMO this guy has a LONG ways to go to prove the bottomend work is very good and I would still be hoping to hear the heads had at least some work.

I would tell him you want the lq4 and a grand too for the quad. That sounds fair

I would start investigating the shop a bit, Mahle is a good piston so it is a step in the right direction.

Yea even if it has been rebuilt it ain't worth 3500, if it is all stock parts then it shouldn't be that high...you could just sell the raptor outright and get a shortblock built by someone like Texas speed....I would pass

pass...buy something better with your money. This setup wont be a hp monster for sure. Hot cam sucks.

Keep your money for a FAST 92, better heads and bigger cam.
