Looking for Options!!! Either I can find this "custom" hose or a really expensive Cool Flex...What do you all think?? The problem with the cool flex is the sharp 90 degree turn.

Looks like it changes sizes from one end to the other? See here http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Par...eSplicers.html for splicing 2 hoses together. Then take your hose to a GOOD parts store and peruse the hoses till you find 2 that can make your "custom" hose.

On edit, 2 possible donors for top hoses, 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 and 1988 GMC 2500 van, 5.7L. These both have long hoses with many useful looking bends.

Lol...Yes I used what hoses I had to make a mock up (hence the wierdness)...The correct hose will have LS size on both ends. I was thinking of mating 2 hoses together to get what I need and it works out since I need a steam port.

We have a "hose and rubber" shop here that you would be able to take that into and have them heat form you an exact match. Last time I needs one it cost me $25. Buying two hoses, clamps and connectors would have cost me $40.

Heck if you have measurements and angles I could probably even see how much they would charge to make it and ship it to ya.

You could make it from mandrel bent steel or aluminum tubing TIG welded together and use rubber on the ends to connect it where it needs to go.

An employee at Pep Boys allowed me to spend a couple of hours behind the counter, looking for particular hose shapes & end sizes. I was able to find two hoses (upper & lower) for my needs. The upper hose required a bit more bending than I felt comfortable with, so I bought a cheapie hose with metal spring inside, cut the spring, and installed it in the hose elbow. It worked well.

Can't open you images, but I did some digging around for my car. The upper hose was easy - 4th gen F-Body upper hose. The lower hose was weird - early 2000's Ford E350 Van Upper hose. Even then, I ended up chopping it and adding a high-temp plastic 90 degree elbow from Menards. Hope this helps:

The one i used for my 72 camaro upper is from oriellys ECR 20893 looks just like a stock upper hose but the end that goes to the water pump is longer so it is more streight with the radiator and out of the way of the 4" CIA.

Instead of the hokey looking screw clamps, we use the Gates shrink clamps. MUCH nicer/cleaner look.
The top hose on my 55 is made with them, a length of chrome plated brass sink drain tubing, and 2 hose bends.

Autometer and others make a joing with a couple different sizes on each end a port in the middle for doing that very thing, I use one and have no problems. It's a good place to put to put that steam vent, keeps it out of the water pump or another place that might be problematic should something happen while away from home.

Another option here,After dropping my radiator 2"recently I purchased a stainless handrail from home depot. I used part with the end curve on the upper from radiator to where hose bent near water pump. Used a straight section at the bottom between 2 different hose bends. Used 2 standard hose clamps onto the stainless pipe for peace of mind for now till I can flare the pipe ends. Sanded & mirror polished the stainless.
Just wanted to give another option with what can be obtained locally(qiuckly that is). Upper can be seen in pic.

Boy, that is almost exactly like my top hose on my 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l. Might take a look at that.

x2. When I saw the pic I thought "man a truck water pump and factory top hose would sole the problem"

I used factory truck hose on my 5.3 g-body swap and trimmed in the middle to get rid of the excess. Look on ebay for a splice pipe...the one I used was $10 and had a hole pre drilled for a temp sensor and then I added another for the steam tube.

My future plan is to get a radiator with upper and lower hoses on the passenger side they are pretty affordable from summit/jegs

That would be almost perfect if the truck water pump inlet was the same as the car.

Here's a pic of the van hose I mentioned, might help. The pickup hose, while coming in at a different angle, thought would work with a splicer with a hook up for the steam line. As far as tig welding a tube, not all of us have tig welding equiptment or experience, I know I don't.

Do you have a part # off that hose? I think cutting it up would work...Is it 1-1/4" ends?
