I know that it is hard too but just be patient. I have been looking for like 6 months. But yesterday I picked up a LQ9 80,000 + complete shortblock for $ 400.00.

only differences between the two are

LS2
58 tooth reluctor wheel
aluminum block
243 heads compression 10.9.1
knock sensors are located on side of motor

LQ9
24 tooth reluctor wheel
iron block
knock sensors located on top of motor in valley cover
317 heads compression 10.1

crank rods pistons are the same on both motors

IIRC the early 2005 LS2 were 24x then changed to 58x. Most will be 58x

Pairof69's, I am actually using the LQ9 as a replacement in an F-Body that currently has a 5.7 in it. If I understood you correctly you said that I would have to drill the lower ALT bolt hole,is that correct? Or is that hole in the correct location on the LQ9?

Yes you have to drill one . that will give 2 mounting points . You cant do anything with the one at 10' o'clock position.
