sure you can add just a blower. What are your power goals? on a 98, i konw the tuning is a little different than the 99+ cars because of the ECM, u may have to change that. but as far as power..the more mods you have, your obviously going to make more power. Dont expect to put a D1 on and make 550+rwhp on a completely stock motor. 450 rwhp is probably more feasible. youll need the blower kit, a fuel pump, and a set of injectors and tune and you should be good to go.

So if I do h/c/I then do a turbo kit, would I be making like 800hp? It says in the FAQ that if you add 14.7 psi then you double your na power. So hci makes around 400-420 and adding a turbo will do like 750?

theres more to it than that. for one, i personally wouldnt trust a stock bottom end to handle 750 rwhp. especially on a 98 with weaker rod bolts. keep it around 550-6 and run some meth. my mods are in my sig and i made 571 @ 5.5-6psi. PSI is all relative also. example(im just going to throw some numbers around) say a stock ls1 at 8psi made 450 rwhp. then u add h/c/i, use the same pulley on the blower as you did when u made the 450, but now your making 600 but at 5psi... the better the engine can flow air or breathe, the less psi youll create but you'll make more power. saying x amount of psi creates x amount of power is inaccurate. 14psi on a bone stock ls1 is going to make less power than an ls1 with heads/cam/intake and lower compression at the same psi.

i ve read somewhere that per pound of boost you can create roughly a 6.8% horsepower increase from your naturally aspirated power.. which would correspond with the 14.7% statement. so..if you had 400hp. 6.8% of 400 is 27.2hp. so per pound of boost your going to make roughly 27.2hp.. and at 14.7psi..
14.7 x 27.2 = 399.84 +400(N/A power) = 799hp...
in my case...i made 571 @ 6psi from 383hp n/a.... thats roughly a 8.2% hp increase per pound of boost...so its not 100% accurate.
