Default New to lq4 turbo jy questions

I am a modular 4v guy coming to the ls world so I know nothing really about these motors. Tommarow I will be picking up at 2006 lq4 with 50k on it. I will have a th400 and have a idea of a 88mm turbo???

Questions...
- arp head studs or arp bolts? Will the ls2 kind fit the lq4 or am I looking for lq4 bolts?
- where can I get the ls9 head gaskets?
- I am looking at the tu2 or tu3 cam with the speed inc springs and pushrods. How will these cams do? Will the pushrods work for a stock motor? Springs? How hard is it to install a cam springs and pushrods?
- how far can the truck intake be pushed or should I get a ls1 or 2 intake?

Sorry for all the questions just need some guidance thanks

You will need the 04+ ARP head studs. They changed head bolts from the Gen3 to Gen 4 ls motors. Ls9 gaskets can be bought at a dealer or SDPC and other site sponsors.

The Speed inc cams will work great and the cam in stall I think it really easy. Very easy if the motor is out.

Ls6 or ls2 intakes would get the job done

If you have the cash get the ARP studs. I am using cheap eBay studs without any problems so far though.

I got my LS9 gaskets from WS6store. They are a sponsor and have the best deals usually.

I have the TU1 in my LQ4. It seems to be working really well and I am extremely happy with it. I have the speed inc. pushrods with Lunati dual springs. Installation is really easy.

There's nothing wrong with using the truck intake if you can fit it under the hood. If not, a LS1 or LS6 intake would get the job done.

So don't use the arp head bolts?

Do you have a link to the eBay head studs?

Head gaskets - http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=4666

Use head studs, they have a lot more clamping capability vs bolts.

Can I just throw the valve springs in with the stock parts? What about valve spring height?

Should I change the oil pump or water pump?

ARP head bolts here (LM7) and stock replacement gaskets. No need in my opinion to spend money needless stuff for the engine if cheaper stuff works fine. I saved money there, and put it into a fuel system. E85 and it's seen 20psi. Maybe the 6.0s are different though.

everything stock will work cept for the head bolts and the valvesprings

you will need valvesprings and ARP or KMJ studs for that kinda boost and power (kmjs are under 100 dollars vs 250 dollar arp's)

a mild cam wouldnt be a bad idea on top of that

Kmj head studs, ls9 gaskets at texas speed, tu2 cam, and stock truck intake. That's what i did and my power goals are similar. Also, buy comps pushrod leangth tool to get the correct size. Don't guess. I'm also using Texas speed pushrods and brian tooley valve springs.

Anyone replace the lifters with new stock ones?

Any tips for bolt sequences that I should undo? So I don't warp the heads or anything?

I seen on turbo forums ls1 ya specs for everything on the motor does the same apply to the 6.0s?

stock pushrods and rockers and lifters

more than that might be piece of mind, but its also piece of wallet if you are trying to save coin
