There are lifters with less travel in general. Check out Morel link bar lifters. There are several series. I run them with 450lb open pressure and they work fine. Mine are not the limited travel variety. What springs are you running and what's the open pressure when shimmed to .050 of coil bind with the cam you're using?

I don't do FI but I run PAC 1521 springs which I think are the best and longest lasting drop-in available. I'm still on my original set after about 25k miles and they still spec within a couple of lbs of new. Just shimmed them a little more.

The lifter trays on the LS engines are designed to do the same thing as the old rev kits. I know AFR made a kit called a Hydra-rev for the older hydraulic roller small blocks and it picked up about 800 extra rpm before valve float and made a big jump in power too.
Most important is to have a rigid valvetrain on the lifter side of the rocker and on the valve side lighter weight is important. on a boosted application spring pressure has to fight the boost too.
