Default 62 Buick HT 6.0L TT build

One afternoon about a year and a half ago, I was sitting at home waiting on the cable guy.I decided since there was nothing else better to do,I would browse ebay and drink a vodka and tonic.I always wanted a 50's caddy so I was killin time and dreamin about such.A couple hours later I evidently had put a bigger dent in the bottle than I realized. I ended up the proud but unexpected owner of A' rust free' 62 Buick Lesabre 2 Dr HT from Florida. Thats what happens when you don't have a nagging wife around to keep you in check. But hey, at least I didnt wake up in Vegas with a new bride or something really stupid like that.Anyway, after nearly a year of not knowing what to do with my unintentional purchase, I decided to build a twin turbo 6.0L on E85 with a 4l80 and lots of accessories to help a 2 1/2 ton car get on down the road.

So if anyone out there cares to follow an otherwise oddball build, I will post updates.I have assembled a few parts already for the motor as follows.

Wiseco dished pistons
K1 H beam rods
Tu1 cam from speed inc.
1518 pac springs
Arp Main studs
Arp Head studs
Holley Hi Ram intake
Holley 90mm throttle body
Holley Dominater EFI w touch screen display
Holley 120lb injectors
Holley valve covers
Holley oil pan
Holley billet fuel pump and filter

Body work on car is complete.
Air ride is installed

Thats where im at right now .
I'll post pics as progress and money allows.

Awesome car! Your story sounds very familiar. That's how I ended up with a 66 Nova.

The car was rust free! I guess thats what made me think it was worth buyin. I am hoping to get my hands on a rotisserie for a couple weeks so I can go ahead and blast the underside and frame and do it right. I am lucky that I used to work at FAST Chassis in MT. Washington KY. and my good friend Darin is going to lend me a spot in his shop to do the rear end work and hopefully I won't wear out my welcome before I can get the engine and tranny fabbed up in the car. I'm hoping to keep the budget around 35 k. That is about what an average wife will blow at a Walmart on needless items in a year or so. I am shooting for performance with comfort ( leather interior, a/c ect.) I'll keep the pics coming as I progress.

Well after a lot of internal debating I have decided to buy 2 gt35 T4 turbos. I figure for the money I'll try em and if performance or reliability proves to be unacceptable I'll buy two precisions and learn my lesson the hard way. Does anyone have any experience with these pieces?

Well after almost a year without progress due to workload constraints, I finally got back on the Buick 6.0 project. To give you guys an insight on where i'm going with this 4000 plus lb road slug I'll start from the top. I decided to install a Heidt mustang ll front suspension since the rear steer of the 62 was so hard to work around as far as installing the LQ4 and tranny. In addition to that I am planning to cut out the x in the frame and install a more common frame design for obvious performance reasons.Moving to the rear a 3 link set up with a fabricated 9" is planned. Here is a link for pics of the first weekends progress, I will keep them coming as work continues. http://s454.photobucket.com/user/rea...ring%20classic

Wow, this is awesome! I love the fact this is different than everyone else! I am in for the build! I have a 1962 Buick Skylark 2 door 215 V-8 w/ a 4 brl carb and an auto. Since it needs rust fix around the trunk lid, the rear roof and rear lower panels and I am not a body man, just an old mechanic, I have been hesitant to start it.

Now I might get the bug to start cause I already bought the LQ4, the big Scat rods and Wossner pistons and rings, along with #5864, (??), rectangular port heads w/ an LS3 intake.

Do you have E85 stations around you or just limited driving planned?? The Heidt's front end allow for install where ever you need it, or limited by anything? The welding is looking GOOD on the frame; lucky to have shop room as well!!!!

Raymond.
