Default 9's first time out..

I already posted this in the 9 second section, but figured I would share it here. Carter01 inspired me to do so!

2002 Z28
3520 lb raceweight

Completely stock untouched heads
MS3 cam
Stock intake
Stock throttle body
Headers
Custom 4" exhaust
Nitrous outlet 200 shot
Yank 3600 stall (only flashes to 3400 on motor)
MWC 9" with rear suspension and 4:11 gear
Completely stock front suspension
28x10.5 slick
Tuned by me

Car went an 11.42@118 w/ 1.59 60' on motor this same day.

On the best nitrous pass and the only one I ran complete 1/4 mile I cut the kit off at 6800 and went through the traps on the limiter at 7200. This was leaving on a 175 shot and progressing the other 25 in at .3 of second.

I went to another track after this and went a 6.33@111 1/8th and bumped my window switch to 7200 and limiter to 7400, then ran it out the back door. They didn't have the 1/4 mile clocks on for some reason but my logs showed that I went through the traps at 7300 rpm which is around 138-139 mph.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. It's a full weight street car for sure. We have a few small things we are wanting to change soon. Nothing engine wise just gear swap, converter restall, front suspension, and lean on the tune a little harder.

Yes sir. That's my pops lol. He has all the old school wisdom and I'm expanding my tuning knowledge and learning more about combos to point customers in the right direction. I'm hoping to bust into the 9.7x next time out on the same setup.

Yes it is. That is why we will be making a gear swap over the winter to get the revs down some. We would like to keep it below 7000 for sure.

It's a 28x10.5 Mickey Thompson. I still have a lot of work to do with the suspension. What are you trying to do? I'd be glad to help if you have any questions.

That is very impressive. It seems ls1 cars continually get faster and faster every year with the "same set ups"

I believe the main reason is strictly tuning. I've learned in my short 2 years of tuning LS cars that the tune can make or break a car especially with nitrous. More importantly though I think it's about having a setup that works together. Thanks for the kind words. Cheers

Absolutely, having a well set up car can hurt big "set up" cars feelings lol. You've got something to be very proud of there.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. The funny thing is I'm basically on the out of the box jetting.

Yeah man i'm ordering a mwc 9" soon so i won't be worried about bustin' it. Swapping to a 3.73 gear since it's a DD and i see you're having Traction issues from that video you posted, Is your car lowered in the back?
