best short block?

best short block?
im building a twin turbo 70 chevelle, and im starting to look into my short block. this is going to be a street / show car and will never see the track. i would love to be over 1000hp but not sure how to get there. i know a lot of guys are running AES shortblocks with good numbers. are they the best? how many cubes is too many or too little? and whos the best builders? im probably going to run with a new block and new forged internals so i want to do it right the first time. thanks

The shorter the stroke the more reliable the engine will be. Think 347/364/390ci all will turn 1000+whp with the right parts and will be easier on bearings becoming more reliable. Big ci is fun, but not required.

Was talking with Brian and he said the trunion up grade is good but he said at the 1000hp level, they've seen many cases where the stock rockers actually grab and pull the valve into the guide. He said ill need something with a roller tip and he said the yella terras are a good rocker for a good price. Just reiterating what the guys at AES told me.

The stock rockers have proven to be really reliable.

Well this car is street only but won't be driven much or too far . I'd love big cubes. But I don't want the thing to burn up or crack the block. I read the post on the lsx 454 with a cracked cylinder wall and got scared off from bigger cubes. But if there is a way to do reliably I really want to know. I do want to run GMs lsx block. I'm not sure on which turbos. (This is my first turbo build but far from a first timer with cars.) I'm going to be making my own headers and cold side tubing. Just unsure of the block/head/turbo combo needed to make the biggest safest hp. Not the money isn't an issue (it always is) but I will wait to buy something if I want the best .

Sounds good, I would run the Ultra I beams or Oliver rods though personally. Pistons and supplied rings are fine, just make sure to order them with the correct dish to get your compression where you want it. You need to figure out what heads you want to use.
