Default Here's the 4-page SHOOTOUT spread for those that can't find the new GMHTP issue

My scanner wasn't cooperating with me so I had to take a pic of each page with my DSLR. Not easy to do with a flash and glossy print. It's the best I could do.

Is Beech Bend considered a good track? Just curious because Bowling Green is my hometown. Are you guys going back there in 2013?

facility wise its a++. ac bath rooms. very clean. plenty on room for big trailers. long shutdown.

track surface i would say is average. its smooth but does not have teeth like a sgmp or holly springs. my 60ft's were in the mid/high 1.3x all day. on a tight track i normally run 1.30's. most cars wont have any trouble getting down track. if your hitting a small tire with a lot of power you will need to back it off early.

The best i can run on my home track is 9.8s at beech bend i ran 9.60 in some terrible DA. Not the best track in the country, but definitely not a bad one either.

I don't believe they sprayed it for our event. I heard that it adds a hefty sum to the rental price.

that is true. the rental does not include spraying the surface.

I concur with this.
Both Shootouts I raced there, they sprayed the starting line at the beginning of the day, but then let it go to hell instead of touching it up during the racing. Both times, 1st run was a dead hook, and then spun every run after that. Most F-body guys with the short wheelbase don't see a problem with it, but it's a whole different game getting the weight transferred with the B-bodies. I have to hit the tires hard to make this car ET. The first 20 feet of the track is the most critical for me.

Congrats on the GMHTP coverage everybody!

How much is a drum of VHT? They spray BMP atleast twice during thurs night test and tune. Boggles my mind they wouldn't do it at a shootout. If it was a money issue they should of got a sponsor to try and pick up the bill. I'd be pissed to spend 1k in fuel cost to go there and have non sprayed track.
