What goes with a camshaft? Just installing kooks true duals.
Putting on kooks 1 3/4 lt's and kooks 3" true duals christmas eve. I'm purchasing MSD/NGK Spark Plugs & Wires Combo to go with the new exhaust install. The only other thing I really want to do to this car for now is put in a camshaft and the required accessories.
What valve springs to get and why? Dual valvespring or single beehive?
What pushrod length? TSP doesn't seem to recommend anything with that cam just gives you options.
What else is required or recommended?
I want a torquer V2 112 lsa I am pretty sure, it sounds amazing but i'm open for opinions on that as well.

Cam
Dual springs. I used prcs I think the torquer 2 is a .598 lift or somewhere in the neighborhood so .600 + lift springs are what you need. But the kit not springs only
I recommend a new oil pump with a new o ring for the sump
Water pump gaskets
Be prepared to replace the coolant.
Pushrods are generally 7.400 but everyone's car is different which is why they recommend the length checker. I had to run 7.500
And then the harmonic balancer pulley and installer if you're installing solo

With a torquer v2 I would recommend daul valve springs. Brian Tooley racing offers some of the best springs on the market for a reasonable price. If your not changing your heads I'd just go with stock length pushrods. Other things to consider would be timing set, lifters, and rocker trunion kit.

I have a m6 tranny, not sure on the gears I was wondering that myself. I drive this when it doesn't rain and when i'm not working, but I live in new york so thats maybe 2-3 times a week in the summers. I don't mind sucking gas. I do drive it to the track just for fun though. I just love the sound of that cam, thats the main reason why I prefer it.
Thanks for the ideas guys.

these forums who err on the conservative side of cam timing usually have a
great combo and then wish they had gone bigger. Stalled autos can get away
with a bit more duration because of the slip, but the stick can lug a bit w/
stock gears. For the best compromise to all of these parameters I'd say try
the Texas Speed 224r cam on a 112 ls and it will drive real nice w/a good
tune on stock compression, get decent mileage, and have a mellow idle bump.

The torquer 2 is a great cam btw I have a very similar cam and it is very street able. I don't notice a difference in my gas mileage but I've always had a heavy foot. The 224r is a good first step cam but I bet you you'll wish you went bigger. If you're not getting heads stick with the tv2 if you decide on heads get something bigger

Texas Speed Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598" Camshaft
224 is a lot lower then a torquer, I only found on video of a 224 and it didn't sounds as bumpy. I'm going to stay with my stock heads too.

is because they have killer CNC heads with about 11 to one compression. I'm
not trying to be a buzzkill but since you said you were staying stock heads...
10.1 compression...I feel it's a better choice for you. I'm sure a vendor could
have a 224/224 cam ground on a 110 lobe separation for the idle you want.
