not sure if its a big no-no but when i wrapped mine i dunked the whole roll of heat wrap in warm water then wrapped them, first time the heat hits them they tighten up like piano wire and it really makes them look nice, also is nicer on the hands and arms because all those little fibers seem to come off in the water and not end up in your skin, just a thought.

Did you guys notice a big change in under hood temps once you wrapped your hotside? I have coated up and forward headers and the under hood temps are unreal. I plan on wrapping mine very soon.

I plan on wrapping mine also, what brand of wrap are you guys using? I like how you cut off the taps for the heat shield bolts. I will most likely do this also what did you use to cut them off? Also what type of clamps are you using to hold them on? Thanks guys and sorry for all the questions.

Yes it makes a massive difference in engine bay heat. I had a coated tube header setup before that one. On a normal day i could drive the car, get out and scan the hood with me IR thermometer and get 240-270* temps on the hood surface.
Switched to the setup above and doing the same resulted in 190-210* temps. I could put my hand on these with the manifold glowing red for about 2 seconds, and the downpipe was nice to lean on even when hot
If you are going to wrap, the ONLY wrap to use is the DEI titanium, it holds up much better than the old style tan and grey wraps, and looks better.
To cut off the tabs, you can do it with a sawzall or just grind them down. The manifold is recessed inside under them so you cant cut them off flush, but even grinding them down so the hole is gone it just leaves a small bump that is easy to cover

On the DEI titanium. After it dries does it feel hard like a cast? My wraps I dipped in water and wrapped and they were DEI but must have not been titanium. Mine never hardened up like a cast or got any tighter.
