Default coolant reservoir hose

I just discovered the battery tray is broken at the front. I found gm part number 10402687 or the dorman equivalent, but where can I find the hose that attaches to the tank? I checked rockauto, gmpartsdirect, and nothing. I searched old threads, but did not find anyone mention replacing this hose. What have others done? Can I cut off that metal piece at the end of the hose at the tank and just attach a new hose with a clamp, and reuse the old pipe/grommet from the old tank?

thats almost exactly what I did. worked like a charm. i got rid of my stock coolant reservoir though because it cracked at the bottom. Broke it off from the battery tray and bought a jegs brand 1 qt recovery tank. i used their provided hose and cut the metal pipe leaving about 1 inch exposed. i slid the new hose onto it, hose clamped it, slid it under the battery to the new tank, and plugged the other end into the radiator. works perfectly.

You just pull the old hose out and put it in the new tank. Its not physically attached or integral to the tank.

if the hose is not bad...........reuse it........its a PITA to get out but it does come out.........use wd40 at the grommet in the reservoir and pull

I may have found part numbers for this hose.

Goodyear 64269
HVAC Heater Hose; Throttle Body Heater Outlet; Cut to fit; Radiator To Reservoir

Gates 18254
Molded Heater Hose; Throttle Body Heater Outlet; Cut to fit; Radiator To Reservoir

I ordered the Goodyear one from Summit Racing.
