Thoughts on stock Ls1 or lt1 for my woman
Hey guys, sold one more of my babies today, 1992 327 camaro rs. Now the woman is hounding me for a car for her. She would like something she can drive to the store, and take to the track with me and have a good time. Here are my 2 options
1.1998 z28 silver, 128xxx miles, a4, magnaflow catback otherwise stock for 4,200$
or
2.1997 z28 red 130xxx miles, with ss hood, pacesetter longtubes, ory pipe, 4.10's, slp loudmouths, somekind of mld cam, 1.6rr's ss wheels for 4,500$
I know this is the lt1 section, and i love mine but which would be a better value for the money, or should i keep looking she likes both.

lol yeah i was thinking the same, is that a good price for the car. It seems like a better daily driver, more tame. The 97 was a little to much. she thought that for our 3 year old daughter who would be riding in it alot..

Probably #1 because it's probably more reliable not having been tinkered with so much, but you'd have to check the cars out in person to be sure. The LT1's bang-for-the-buck merit is lost when an LS1 car (in the same or better condition) is the same price or cheaper. Usually LS1 cars are 2x as expensive as an LT1 car it seems.

I think something is up with the 98, i went to meet the guy, and he then told me it had a small stall converter... i was like okay this is a nice car. I meet the guy, and wow she was nice, ss wheels nice 3 inch stainless tips. I hop in and he says "now with this converter it wont grab as soon as it goes into drive it takes a second" well that turned into like 5 seconds, then it clunks, and i reved to like almost 2800 before it moved, and it slipped like a greased pig on a hard wood floor. going up little hill it slipped, and giving it gas while moving. what do you guys think, it ran well, just didnt drive nice. Unless thats how a stalled car drives i dont know guys.

If you do not own either, purchase an LS1 if the value and condition of the car is the same as the LT1 car. I own both, I love the looks of my LT1 and only bought it because I have always wanted a 30th SS. FWIW, I sold my 97 Z28 with mods similar to the ones you listed above for a 99 SS years back and it was a good choice.
