SN95, caged, mini tub, 6.0 w/ L92's, 5 speed, megasquirt build, pic heavy!
time to start the thread now that i can begin the real work. i'll document it as i go and feel free to ask any questions or share some good input.

build rear end, 9in ends, strange axles, ARB, 4.10 gear
15 gal fuel cell
a1000 pump with teflon lines

tremec 3550 trans with 26 spline input shaft and quicktime bell
look to have it running in a few months and cruise this summer. goals are to keep it a fun street car and bang gears for some 10.80's or so. later on i will build a turbo setup and swap an auto into it. maybe.
here's a few pics of the build that was already completed and where it is today. i built the chassis over the last couple years and put a SBF setup in it this summer. did trickflow heads, victor intake, custom cam, etc. etc and it made 290hp 292tq which isn't bad at all for a stock shortblock 302 at 6,500ft elevation. but it was weak sauce and i was disappointed at the end. so now it's getting the LSx setup and hope for 420rwhp when it's running.
started with a clean, stock car and drove it once. then parked it and blew it apart. i've owned quite a few mustangs and was getting tired of fixing other peoples mistakes. so i went the slow and expensive route and started with a blank canvas. almost gave up a couple times, but i'm really happy with how it turned out now.

thanks guys. don't have a throttle body yet. probably going to get a professional products one because it's budget minded and comes with the tps sensor and all the hardware. can't justify spending 400+ on a nick williams one.

REDL1NE, i saw your build too. i had a 79 z28 when i was 17. it was red with black interior. was absolutely the **** to me. unfortunately i grew up in iowa and rust became it's demise. looks like you have a solid plan coming together.

played in the garage this afternoon. knocked off the bosses on the valve covers so i can smooth them out. obviously i'm going to relocate the coil packs so it looks nicer.
also got the engine side of the motor mount made and prepped the rest of it. still waiting on my oil pan to show up so i can mock the drivetrain up and make the mounts. hopefully tomorrow.
first cut and little smoothing
final smoothing. ready to fill the holes up in the morning. not sure how far i'll take it. probably just grind it smooth after welding and give it a good build up primer and sand. don't feel like messing with any body filler. and i'm out at the moment.
1/4in flat stock and 1 1/2in square tube to make the motor mounts picked up yesterday from the scrap pile
and the engine side of the mounts are done and bolted on.

f body radiator showed up today. USPS beat it up pretty good while shipping. broke the tube off for the overflow tank. but it only bleeds off excess coolant when the cap allows it. so it's not under pressure. just some plain epoxy should seal it up just fine.
also stripped the front clip off the car. one, to help not scratch it up. but i also have to re-paint the engine bay. i had color matched paint last time and ran out. got impatient and grabbed something from the store and was a shade off. always bothered me. may as well correct it now.

thanks guys. not too shabby for a garage build. i did have the cage and rear end done by a shop. i don't have the tools or knowledge for that level of fab work. but it's coming together again. having deja vu having it sit like this again, haha. at least all the other hard work is done this time

no, the heads are stock 823 castings. i don't plan on taking them off. but that will depend on how the stock cam looks when i pull it. if there are any wear marks or scoring, then i will pull them and replace the lifters. then put some studs and new gaskets in as i plan on building a turbo setup later.
also not set in stone on the cam. i found lethal racing's "night fury" cam and it seems pretty awesome power wise and driveability. i may end up just running that as it suits my
needs. waiting to hear back from them

finally got a little work done today. and will get the motor and trans in the car tomorrow to make the motor mounts.
just finished cleaning up the motor and painted the block. swapped on the cts-v oil pan for mock up. got gas for my welder and just prepped for a productive day tomorrow.
