Default Shyt ... while cleaning off the head gasket with a scotch brite bad I ......

Went a lil low in one spot tward the end of the block (tward the front end ) ... It nothing noticable to the eye but if you rub your finger accross it you can barly feel it .... So is my block screwed or will the gasket compress enough to seal it .... Its not right next to the cyl or a water jacket

thanks

If you are running stock type graphite gaskets it will prob be fine, if you are running MLS (Multi-layer steel gaskets) you MAY have a problem

Use the felpro gasket, they are the thickest available, i think they are .040 thick.

Except for the GM Graphite (.054), GM MLS (.060), and the Cometics (up to .120). Don't know if that is a typo, but the Fel Pro is one of the thinnest gaskets available.

<== measured the fel-pro and it wasn't thinner. They said compressed thickness was ~.056

Maybe there are different Fel Pros, I had a set of Fel Pros that were .041 compressed.
