Default How bad should my exhaust stink with this cam?

I love the cam I got from Pat G/EPS for my 2006 CTS-V. Specs are: 226/230 .598/.609" 114LSA +4. The only other mod the car has is headers(no cats) and it made 410rwhp after the tune. I didn't really notice it at first(probably because I was too busy hauling ***), but the exhaust is pretty stinky at idle. I haven't had enough of these to know if the smell is normal or if I can tune it out. Any pro's care to chime in here?

I have hptuners and my fuel trims are dead nuts on. The o2 sensors are switching very quickly at idle. I've never played with the EOIT and I'm wondering if there is anything to be gained there.

I'm willing to accept it if that is just the way it is without cats, but if any improvement can be made that would be great.

obx headers w/o cats into factory exhaust with the mufflers deleted. Still has the factory resonator.

Well, it has 0* overlap, which shouldn't be to bad at all, but without cats even a stock engine will have slight smell. BTW, eventually you'll get to the point where the smell won't be as noticeable to you. Now if you have trouble tolerating the smell then I'd suggest installing a set of high flow cats, they won't cost you very much hp/trq.

The funny thing is I didn't notice it at all at first. It still runs the same, but now I seem to have focused in on it. Maybe I'll try another tank of gas or so before trying any changes.

It's a mans fragrance!!! Suck it up!!!
Lol

I warmed my car up yesterday after not turning the car on for about a month. Well I got lots of overlap and when I walked backed inside my wife grabbed me and squeezed me saying how much she misses that smell on me and can't wait for spring!!!

lol. My car smells like it should run 10's. It's my DD so I spend a lot of time at stop lights thinking about the smell. I don't think it bugs me enough where I'd put cats on it though.

Here is the video of first startup after the cam before any tuning...

I would try retarding EOIT 10 degrees at idle to see if that helps it. I did the same and found an improvement in idle quality, and the fuel smell.

I'd me more worried about how horrible its going to sounds with no muffler in small piping.... the smell is going to be like any other cam, if the tune is wrong it'll dump fuel...
