67 Buick GS LQ4 swap.
Well I guess all the other buick guys are doing it so I will to. lol. Well my name is Josh and I have a 67 GS400 that im swapping in a 2000 LQ4. I have had the car for about 6-7 years. When I was a little kid (4-5-6) years old this was my fathers car. I remember playing in it and going for rides. He sold it to a guy up the road who had it for about 7 years then my cousin bought it and got it going again. My setup so far is a Moser 12 bolt with 3.73s, a T-56 from D&D performance and now a LQ4. My plan is to get the engine in and running/driving by the begining of summer. I have already installed a Milodon a-body swap pan and my motor mounts. I plan on pulling my big block buick out this weekend and if I have time get the 6.0 in place and see what I need to do with the frame pads. Next winter I would like to go with a turbo. Im not sure if im going single or twins yet. I do have some pics on photobucket just have to figure out how to get them on here.

Nice!!! I thought you were going to be doing the swap on a another Buick you had. 67s are sharp! How much power were you making with that 400? You know a 4 inch strocker crank in that lq4 will make a hair over 400 cubes. Subscribed!

I was going put it in my 71 skylark but I decided to put it in my 67 since I already have the 6 speed in it and its just a cruiser. The engine is a 72 455. Right now its just over 300hp. It still has a stock cam.

I had a 01 camaro with an ls1 m6 it was a great car. I would get about 24-26 mpg back and forth from work. If I can get close to 20 mpg with my 67 I would be happy. Its going to be better than the 8-9 mpg it gets now.

Well I got the engine setting in place. The only problem is the steering is hitting the oil pan. I think I can shim the motor mounts up to clear but then the truck intake wont fit under the hood. What would you guys do?

What type of pan do you have? I'm using an F body pan, modified the sump for more room aft of the crossmember. Using the Vet Alt/PS bracket also lowers the alt and better clearance for PS pulley.

Im going to play devils advocate and tell ya that the holley Throttle body works really well with factory style air filters If I recall correctly in 67 the Buick GS had........ How bad *** would that air filter look on top of that LS!

yeah a star wars air cleaner would look cool on there.

Thanks. It as close to the original color as they could get. Also an update I just picked up a victor jr. carb intake for it from a member on here. Im going with that for now until I can afford all the efi stuff I need. As soon as I get that I can get moving on my build again.
