Default collectable?

I know there are alot of owners of firebirds and TA's out there so i figured i would post this

I am a VERY proud owner of a 1998 Formula Firebird WS6. I did not know that they are rare when i purchased it. i recently heard that true collectors are looking to buy these cars, i just wanted to know if it is true and if so how much of a price difference would it be compaired to like a TA ws6? not looking to sell or anything just thought i would ask

These type of things are cheap and help the car be custom a little and unique. They are not expesive either. I filled in my bumper with yellow. Put on the pillar birds. and birds on the wheels and on the hood. Well put on a bigger one some day. I started with a small one to make sure It would look ok and I didnt mess it up

How many miles on the car? Any more pictures? I want to add a ws6 hood to mine and it would look just like that.

mine just turned 60k miles, will post some more pictures soon. saw this cool front filler plate mod that was clear then painted so the bird was still clear and put LED lights behind it so at night you turned it on the bird would light up. super cool idea!

Anniversary editions..slp firehawks....low mile STOCK TAs are gonna be your collector editions. But since they such a rarity, any ta will have their place 50+yrs from now.

If that car has more than 10K miles on it probably won't be a true collector. The cars that go on mecum and the like are all miracle cars that never moved. There was a GTA recently that had like 800 miles on it that sold for 25K. Still a rare car though since it is a formula WS6. I would hold onto it just for myself. Trying to make money off of collector cars is not a good way to go IMO. Especially, American cars.

I agree.

60k miles on a car that's currently only 15 years old is not going to be considered "collector" miles by any means. If you stop driving the car right now, maintain/restore it's original (unmodified) condition as it sits, then in another 30-40 years a collector might be interested in it.

WS6 Formulas are definitely some of the rarest LS1 cars. But the only items that make them rare are the hood, wheels and badge. Since they are mechanically the same as any other LS1 4th gen, there isn't much about them to set them apart as a serious collector item. Had they come with a specific engine upgrade, things might be very different. In the world of antique/collector performance cars, examples that are rare only due to cosmetics are never worth as much as cars that are rare due to specific (high performance) engine/drivetrain options.

metalmilitia606 and RPM WS6 are right on the money.
Too many miles for collector type money. I doubt you will own this car in 20+ years so enjoy it now for yourself. Letting someone else enjoy it in the future makes no sense.
If your car had less than 20,000 miles and was 'truly stock and near mint' I would tell you otherwise.

They are meant to be enjoyed. No point in having it if it just sits and collects dust. IMO
