Default 1.6 rockers 7/16 best option?

Hi guys,
I'm working on my forged 355 LT1 and I'm looking to upgrade my rockers.
At the moment I have proforms 1.6 3/8s.
I have fully ported heads 210, cam, V1 supercharger, 58tb, and some other mods.
My target is 550-620HP.

Looking for non self aligning ones and valve cover clearance is not an issue.

At the moment I am considering these:

PRW 1.6 7/16
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1609398569...84.m1423.l2649

Scorpion Racing 1.6 7/16
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3707503048...84.m1423.l2649

Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnums 1.6 7/16
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1408744275...84.m1423.l2649

I need a quality but don't really want to overpaid if there is no point.

Any feedback will be much appreciated especially from people who had these installed.

Thanks

I am a firm believer of never skimping on the valvetrain regardless of the build.

^^^ Those IMO. Even the normal pro mags will do you just fine if they are less expensive.

I would also consider Comp's stepped guid plates instead of GM's flat ones. The higher you guide the pushrods, the more stable things stay.

Good concept, in the right hands with stiff pushrods. With marginal pushrods, they'd make stability worse.

I have already Competition Cams 4808 guide plates.
Hope these are good enough.

Once I have rockers I need to measure pushrod lenghts and get some pushrods.

Anything you can recommend for this set up?

Thanks

Wouldn't be a smart person that failed to use stiff pushrods.

Just looking out for the OP.
You never know. Sometimes people like to jump on new suggestions to them and yet miss the basics
I wasn't disagreeing at all, just trying to emphasize the basics.

Yep- Wut he Sayd. Been running this setup for ~60,000 miles in my 383, never had the valve cover back off. Looking to go another 40K before retiring this engine.

A smart person understands valvespring in particular become a maintenance item with aftermarket cams, just because nothing is broken doesn't mean it is still working right.

Far as guideplates, whatever you use check to make sure the rockers are reasonably well aligned with the valves, most regular SBC PNs wont give you that.

I cut my guide plates, align the rockers with the valve stem and tig weld them.
Now I just use Jessel.

Smile

I run the pro mags

Isky makes an adjustable pushrod guide works fantastic. Befor the adjustable guides my afr guides always let me bend pushrods - or maybe it was the rocker would slip off - in any case no problems at all after the Isky adjustable guides.
