My First Two Runs at the Track with Denmah's Fairmont....
Took "Goldmember" out this weekend for some test and tune. I only made two passes as the track was packed, and I got warned after the first pass to slow it down or go home. I agreed, and then went faster. LOL.
First pass, right off the interstate was a 10.36 @ 134 with a 1.71. This was on wastegate alone, 13 psi.
Here it is inside:
And Out:
I was really impressed with that run and I was thinking 9's were available on my second pass. So, I put it on the boost controller for about 17 psi. I also decided I would try to build more boost with the anti-lag, so I leaned on it harder. Unfortunately, I tripped the beams and did not realize it, so I am not sure how much time I ate sitting there. I went 10.55 @ 136 with a 2.0. We packed it up and headed out for the day. Bummer as I think 9's were within my grasp. Next time!

So, I have this friend who is a director. He mostly makes commercials and directs TV shows. He has "an awesome set of tools," LOL. He downloaded my 10.55 pass in-car into his editing software and went frame by frame. Aside from losing all of my rollout, I sat there dead with the beams tripped for 3 tenths. That 10.55 was a 9 second pass, blown because I rolled through the beams. Crap.

even if you trip the beams like someone else said. if they knew the rules they would remember the mph of when things are required. me and a friend got kicked out of a track for going 10.60s at 148 because of blowing the tires off for half the track
good passes

https://sites.google.com/site/sloppy...s/fairmont-2-0 This is the OP's car, Denmah built a bunch of them. They really are nothing special other than the motors and I guess that's what makes them so cool. Super affordable hotrodding with the same results as huge budgets at the time. You can see on there the 5 of these he built plus the trucks and everything else. He's like the messiah of junk yard hotrodding lol. Or the backyard mechanics national R&D department.
