66 Catalina GEN IV 5.3/Muncie
Over the past year in my free time I've been working on my friends 66 catalina. The 389 was toast and he wanted to join the LS world with the big boat. Tried talking him out of it, but to no avail the LS was purchased and been chasing my tail ever since.
Got a 2007 5.3 with 60k on it.
And heres what shes going in 66 Pontiac Ventura
Got it torn down and decided to go with a Texas Speed Torquer II cam. Did a full DOD removal, LS2 cam gear up front, LS6 lifters, LS6 Oil pump, LS2 valley cover.
mounts
Fit up to trans to see if there is clearance issues ....
Clears here
but not here....
looks little in that huge hole!

Found the steering to be hitting the pan when the engine was in place. Spent some time looking under cars on power tour last year and talking with vendors etc. Came to the conclusion we needed this pan.
Had to notch the crossmember to clear the front of the pan.

Frame boxed in
Engine / trans bolted in place
Harness test fit with 07 Truck fuse block
Brings me up to date. I need to lay under the car and photo the exhaust work done as well as fuel system.
This leads up to the questions. Has anyone used the Gen IV truck fuse block to power the harness as stand alone, like you can the Gen III truck fuse blocks?

I'm still building it, hard to find time to work on it but the motor is running. I'll update it by the weekend.

Sweet swap!! I really wish GM hadnt done away with Pontiac!
If you decide you dont want to use the factory fuse block we sell a DIY kit that is an assembled factory style fuse block with splash guards and labels the inside. You would have to wire it in to your harness.

Do you have a link or a picture of what your fuse block looks like?
