Great build. I've been thinking of putiing in an LS based engine in my 68 Bonneville. Maybe after the GTO is done, and I save some more money.

Thanks for the pics.

Man I want this thing running NOW I've been on the job due to sciatica nerve damage in my back, cars been hanging for 4 months. on a good note the lift hasn't flexed 1 bit, I measured the towers from the wall on both sides and the measurements are the same.

P.S.

Good news on the lift anyway, that's a hell of a lot of weight on it.

OK here's the story, I've had this car for 16 years, I remodeled it once before by rebuilding and modding the 400 motor. I purchased my vette 6.5 years ago, this car became a bald headed step child, and was forced to sit outside the whole time. I couldn't bring myself to sell it, this has to be 1 of pontiac's best body styles. Many times I had the needle bury past 120mph and it was still pulling. when cruising people move out the way because they don't know what it is..

In 1968 power at crank was 340 hp and 430 torque. all the old pontiac had big torque to move those cars. Weight when new 3943 pounds, so far with the motor and tranny swap it lost 200 lbs. It will be on more of a diet.

Yes both are the same car, we can share some secrets to make our build fast and better for each of us.

The rear 12.25 disc brake with e-brake came from http://www.hotrodsusa.com/store/dpsrear_pbrake.html they work with wilwood to build it to fit the car. also came with free front to rear e-brake cables.

Some of these may help you. High light the lines one at a time and open a new search window, they were copied from my office firefox bookmarks folder.

Ceiling is 90 inch high, I can sit under the catalina, on my rolling bench and work, I had to drill another set of holes on the sides of the towers to slide the bars through to land the car on. The vette gets lifted to the top factory holes.

Picks this 4000 pound car at the same speed as a empty lift, down speed is smooth.

Before I put in place I have to fix a small hole on the trunk where the external fuel pump was mounted, and also make brackets to mount the new 1 inch solid sway bar. The car never had rear bars, only a wimpy 3/4 front bar, now it has a 1.19 inch front solid bar.
