If I unplug the o2 sensors on my 94' would the car still go into closed loop? The car just run so much better with the o2's unplugged.. Thanks.

It will not. Unplugging the O2's and the car running better is a good sign your O2's are bad.

Does the car run fine until it goes into closed loop?

Yep 02 sensors are bad causing it to either add to much fuel or removing it.

If you have access to tuning software or a good tuner, you can run OL all the time, just have to make sure your hitting the commanded AFR across the MAF/VE tables.

Cool thanks. But if the car runs fine with them unplugged I guessing the tables are ok. At WOT does the car go into OPEN LOOP anyway?

I had the same deal. Hoping to have the new motor with the 24x conversion tuned in open loop, saves $ on having to buy new o2's

Yes OL is WOT and the system will always be in OL for a few seconds when you first start it up. If its cold start it will stay in OL longer till the parameters are hit in the PCM to go into CL.

If you guys are interested with any 24x tuning hit me up on the hptuners forums under my screen name "Ben Charles" I do email tunes all the time.

But if the car runs fine with them unplugged I guessing the tables are ok
Yes IF THEY ARE DIALED IN CORRECTLY. The other day I done an OL tune and it was around 13.4 before I started at cruising levels, which would be around a -13% if the car was in CL control and the Short term fuel trims would show this. With OL control I put the car to run down the highway at 15.4 for better fuel economy and goes directly to 12.5-12.8 at WOT. But again you have to know what your doing.

Thanks guys. The only thing is the fans stay on constantly in open loop. That's the only downfall..
