Default 1.8 Rockers installed (Dyno results)

Got the rockers installed this morning at speedworks. I picked up 2 rwhp and not torque peak at 5800 rpm.
Before everyone goes damn what a waste, I picked up 10 rwhp and 7 rwtq from about 3500-5500. At 5500 my computer started to retard timing. I could not get it dyno tuned today but the rockers are worth about 10 rwhp with some tuning.

The biggest benefit is how quite and smooth it idles now. Much less valve train noise. No real seat of the pants diference but I got them to quite the engine down. Its now quiter than a stock C5.

I believe you could get 15-20rwhp on a stock engine with a 1.85 roller rocker and actually make the engine quiter.

Overall, I am happy with the rockers.

I am having it tuned in a couple of weeks, I will post the tuned graph then!

Congratulations! Good gains!

10 rwhp <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I wanted to see if the 1.7 would quite the engine down two.

Good stuff <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I am considering getting some 1.8 RRs from Crane. Being a daily driver and only an occasional drag strip participant, gains of 10 RWHP in the midrange RPMs sounds pretty good to me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Please post your gains after you have some tuning. <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

I paid 400 for the rockers and 140 to install them. 540 bucks for 10rwhp is worth it.

I may get more than 10rwhp peak after tuning but the power under the curve is their now. Anyhow my shift points are set at 6100 not 6500 so I really wont feel the drop off. I will do the tuning for Dyno purposes and maybe but up my shift points.

What brand roller rockers did you get? That's an awesome price - were they used? The rockers I am considering (the Crane ones) list for almost $700 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

If I can get a set of 1.8 RRs for that price I'd buy them in a NY second <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

do your car seem rev a little easier now? I noticed when I put roller rockers on my 70 SS 396 Chevelle it revved alot easier.

In addition how much does this affect the lift on the cam when you are running something like a 227 cam?

does this mean you can get a 224 cam and add 1.8 or 1,85 rockers and get the same effect as a 227 cam or possibly 230?

please educate me.

The crane rockers added 2 degrees duration to my 216-220 and .25 lift so now it is a 218/222 at .550 and .562

It does rev easier not much faster but I could rev to 6800 with my current setup!
