Default LM1 exhaust questions

i have a factory slp dual dual exhaust. wanted to get a lm1. wanna do all the fabing myself. so just wanted to throw the lm1 in line under the car then weld on a little y section on the end of it then run dual pipes over the axel so the dual tips sit close together right in the middle. i like the way it looks. will this hinder flow? has anyone done anything like this? and will i gain anything besides a loud a** exhaust... ie any horses? thanks in advance

Gains will be little to none, I would do the switch just based on sound preference if that is the sound you are going for if you are going for more power you won't see any. You will not through any codes as long as you leave the O2 sensors alone. As long as the pipe is a good diameter and mandrel bent there should be no problems with flow.

I disagree, I would be more inclined to about 5hp and that would be a long shot.

There's a video of my car all stock with the SLP LM1 on the car. Right after I put the exhaust on the car it was MUCH louder, at least 3-4 times louder than stock. Low end torque was decreased a small amount, with less throttle response, however in the mid range and upper range I feel it pulled slightly harder.

The SLP LM1 is the lightest of all the aftermarket catbacks and the most free flowing, I would say 10 crank HP can be expected.

Adding an SLP lid and a ported and polished throttle body returned all the low end torque and throttle response, and then some.

Are you thinking of getting the LM1 and modifying it to fit like you want, or just getting the LM1 "resonator" and fabricating up the rest?

Let me know if you wanna sell the Dual/Dual.

I'm just gonna get the resonator and Fab the rest. I have stock manifolds and y that came with the dual dual. Need to keep it stock to pass emissions and not get sent to the state ref. Had a cop look under my car for lt's so the cops are starting to get smart around here. And gonna do it in a few weeks and probably sell the dual dual setup so ill let u know.
