Son of a bitch. He was a great friend and competitor. He innovated alot of the LT stuff that we tried on the old Purple Trans Am.

IIRC he said he was having surgery, but never elaborated. Damn shame! Send our condolences John.

This is awful news. I was just talking to him a few days ago on facebook and it sounded like his recovery was going well. Something drastic must of happened. What a great guy and great LTX Supporter. He will be missed.

My condolences to his family.

Maybe the family will still want to see the unicorn make a few passes and run the number he always wanted.

He was a good friend for about 16 years, I knew him when I was still driving an LT1 Z/28.

Lots of teary drag racers in Chicago today.

Extremely sad news for the whole lt1 community. He was a lot of our idols and a great guy to talk to. Helped me a lot with my build through PMs, and it is his old heads, intake and valve train on it.

He will be missed!! .

This is very sad news. Every time i went to the track Chris was the first person I called to let him know how it went. Im truly at a loss for words. His daughter texted me five minutes ago. She said he developed a blood clot in his lung. just spoke with him a few weeks ago and he was getting better. RIP my friend.

Definitely a sad day for the racing community. He was a great guy who will be truly missed. My condolences go out to his family.

Last I heard from him was last week through facebook. He had surgery cause of a nerve that had pressure against it. He was recovering just fine but he developed a blood clot from bed rest that went unnoticed.

I would hope so. I remember hearing from him how close you guys were. If anyone would be honored enough to do it, it would be you. Wouldn't matter if it was a 7 second pass or a 10 minute pass. the honor of making it pass down the track would be a hell of a salute to him.

Such a shock.
