Im buying a ls6 intake manifold this weekend with a ls2 throttle body, I have a 98 car and am curious will I have to buy anything else to make it work or can I just use all my old stuff from my car. Thanks

the manifold will work fine.

that LS2 throttle body will not. our cars are cable driven throttle bodies, not fly by wire like the LS2's

you will be able to reuse your throttle body.

Should be fine. I'd have your TB ported and polished at this time as well. It's cheap and simple

Don't forget that you'll be needing the LS6 coolant crossover lines/tubes as well for the install.

Or, you could just grind down the fins under the ls6 intake and make it fit with the ls1 coolant lines.

That's what I'd do.

I might be doing this too soon... While it is on topic, anybody know of real world hp gains and estimated install time? Honestly is it worth it?

My install time was about 6 hours, but I took a lot of breaks and wasn't in a hurry. Not sure of # gains, but I did LS6 manifold and headers at the same time and i didn't recognize the car after.

Should only take a few hours max, I can swap one in less than an hour but I've done it so many times I think I could do it with my eyes closed.

As far as real works gains, I'd say 8-15 seems to be what everyone sees wit them
