Default ASP 23% underdrive damper questions

Looking at buying this part - http://autospecialties.com/forms/ASP945100.html

Anyone know how much less it weighs than the factory hub? Also, its a direct replacement of the factory hub correct? Just would need a shorter belt?
Thanks! If it helps, its going on the 383 95 T/A in my sig.

I hate to be the first to say that many times an underdrive really isnt any benefit. The decreased weight doesn't dampen the harmonics as well as a full size/weight pulley. To me only a track only car that gets tore down at LEAST once every few years should even think about one of these.

I've been running that one for about 10 years. I may have gained 1-2hp, but I bought it to slow down the p/s pump on the race track to help prevent fluid from boiling over. And yes it replaces the stock one instead of being a pos piggy back setup like the other ones on the market.

I have that and the matching alt pulley. I think it weighs about 3lbs less if I'm not mistaking.

Sounds like it will help a little. im running out of power mods to do. I am adding an EWP, making an over the radiator style CAI, and thought about the underdrive damper (dont wanna do the piggyback underdrive pulleys) which is why I asked. Wanna dyno the car again after that now that I have the correct valve springs to spin this motor up high. Lots of weight reduction too. Mystery bird those are amazing times at your weight and DA!

I got one as well. Another thing worth mentioning besides weight reduction and under drive is that it runs true which will help the belt live longer. My low mileage factory damper had a slight wobble which was noticeable looking at it @ idle. Oh and just so you know the hub and damper are separate components...you will reuse the factory hub with this damper.

It's not that they are bad or not worth something, I could just find better things to spend money on but to each their own.

Thanks, hoping to do a little better this year with new mods and better air.

Yeah I see, but I am running out of things to make it faster N/A. Would like to maybe swap over to a solid roller setup later but not sure, and its costly. My stock balancer also has a slight wobble at idle I believe.
