Default 4000 stall

I recently purchased a 4000 stall from my buddy for my 4l60e. I was thinking it might be too much. Although I rarely drive the car. Maybe 1 or times a month. i was thinking of having it stalled down to around 3600 before installation. but just not to sure. Input is greatly needed.

That's like wondering if a ms4 is too big and stepping down to a ms3.. Or 390s are too much and moving to 373s.

The difference under normal driving won't be noticed.

Well if he has an lt1 i would think a 4k stall would take him too far out of the meat of the lt1s power band.

If its an ls1 yes keep it 4k, but i would reconsider with an lt1.

The 4000 is awesome from a roll, when you flash the converter it takes off hard. The bigger converter helps tame the cam surge too.

What are your cam specs?

Idk 4000 just seems to much for a bolt on lt1. What are you plans for a cam? With stock heads can't see going larger then 224/230 ish

I honestly don't see you noticing much difference between a 3600 and a 4000. I'd just run it if I was in your position.

4k is the way to go. I had a 3200 stall then stepped up to a 4k stall. Flat out amazing. And it drove as good as a 3200.

F what you heard. Install is complete with 4000 stall. Very well mannered on the street but a beast when stalled out. Although my mods are not enough to reach full potential of the 4000 stall it gives me room to work with. Breaks the tires around 3400 with current mods and 3.73 gear ratio. cruises on the highway at about 3000. Im guessin a tune is in order but im saving that for after a top end build up and cam. Thanks for the 4000 owners who know whats up after everyone told me " thats too much converter"
