Angry if its not one thing its another ugghhh

so i fixed my headlight motor not working by splicing the wires and yay it works, but now any time i unlock the car or lock it they open and close and the driver side motor just runs for about 5 seconds... its annoying but thats not my main reason for writing this post

i previously had a thread about possible bad timing or whatever the issue might be. anyways when i was checking all my plugs today (btw the rear passenger plug is a royal effing biotch!).. i noticed this. it was wrapped in electrical tape, which looks like its coming from my tps?? if anyone can tell me wtf this is and why it has 3 open wires i would great appreciate it

It appears the previous owner cut the sensor and then spliced it back together. It should at least have a pig tail and not open wires like that.

that's what I was hoping all it was. It wouldn't cause any issues though in theory right?

The top part is your idle air control the lower part in the pic is your tps. If the wires are shorting it could cause your idle to jump around

I'm having issues as well Phil... Car doesn't want to fire for about 5 sec on start up (I think fuel pump), car wants to stall when I turn the A/C or heat OFF, and it smells like oil on start up occasionally..

looks like he put a new plug on it, id make sure its the correct plug and properly connect the wires see if that has any effect one your troubles. also have you tapped the ECU with a screw driver when its running and she what happens? with all the problems adding up the ECU could be ready to go.

But ya tapped on ecu and nothing changes, I wish I had someone who lived closer Kay to hear the car and feel it when driving. Cuz videos aren't very helpful :/

Ya know... I never thought about tapping the ECU but I know that the original owner removed the hardware that holds the ECU in place...

EDIT: Tapped the ECU and nothing changed. I replaced the plugs and wires myself so I KNOW it's not those...
