Default My V flag solution

I have been throwing around some ideas on what to do about our fading V flags. I didn't wanna spend $80 bucks on ebay for them to fade all over again, so I came up with this. I haven't decided if im gonna debadge the sides or cut the flag off like I did here. I know it doesn't look perfectly straight, I will work on that. You get the idea. Let me know what you think.

Personally, I feel that it looks awkward and out of place without the flag portion after the V. Especially since the V is angled in a way that it almost presents that something should be beside it... Leave them OEM with the flag attached or go completely badge-less in my opinion.

Get the carbon fiber overlays that a forum member was selling. I had just bought and mounted new badges or I def would have went that route.

I though about those overlays but it still leaves the v chrome. And painting the whole thing black wouldn't look right. So I might just debadge it cause I don't want a chrome part on this car. I wanted to try something different.

OK, so what do you guys suggest to fix the fading flag permanently? The cf inlays is not an option as I don't not like chrome

good news! the carbon fiber inlays only cover the colors on the flag, not the chrome.

No ****, I said I do NOT like chrome. I tried using plasti dip on the emblems. All blacked out looks like **** and the exposed faded flag looked like ****. Now if someone actually has some advice let me know instead pointing out the obvious.

cf stand for carbon fiber. Right or Wrong? So when I say I do not want the cf (carbon fiber) inlays, that means I don't want to cover up the flag with cf (carbon fiber) and leave the chrome exposed. If I was talking about chrome inlays, I would have said chrome. Its sad I have to spell that out for you. Not trying to be a dick but you came off as one.

what are you talking about? No duh cf means carbon fiber ty (thank you). read what you wrote. I highlighted it in red for you. Where did you get confused, that I got confused about cf (carbon fiber)?

Ok, let me try this again....you wrote..."I don't not like chrome" Now, I may be special, but to me that sounds like a double negative which states you like chrome. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Enjoy what ever terrible emblems you like. I'm done.

Ok, advice: 1. Learn to read. 2. Learn to proof read. 3. Grammar school. 4. Get that moderator status and I won't comment on your threads any more. 5. For the love of god, take that awful emblem off your car.

In all I think I'm helping this thread...ALOT!

Okay back to point.... Glad you got rid of the original idea, although props on trying it. I found an oem emblem for $25 on ebay to replace my trunk unit which was faded. Sides V's still look good. I will probably take the CTS off the other side of the trunk.

IMO $25-50 every 5 years isn't too bad to keep it looking clean.

I was thinking about going that route but I have seen them fade in a year or so. But I might give them a try in the future. I actually like the look of no badges, but maybe I will change my mind. Thanks for the advice.

I'm sure your car looks really nice and clean debadged, the only thing is that I actually like to be able to tell people it is a V because otherwise so many guys, even car guys, wouldn't know based on the subtle bodywork / wheels compared to a reg CTS. Where you at in MN? Feel free to PM me.
