Default programming a 1995 AUO code trans am for keyless entry

95 trans am, details in sig. AUO code car. so it had keyless entry, there was once an aftermarket alarm system on it that i removed everything i found of it and returned it to stock. i have been trying to scan check engine codes and cant connect to the PCM, so i am thinking something is not quite right with the wiring... i am not sure what all was done that may disrupt getting the factory keyless entry to work... the only other observation that i can think of is thatwhen i pulled the pass side rear interior panel over the rear wheel well to clean, there was no box (i think it is sone type of impactsnesor for the alarm) there. (my 99 LS1 has one) when i bridged the #4 and #8 ports on my DLC, it locked the dorrs so it did ground it. and i had my remote from my 1999 trans am and tried hitting the lock button but the locks never cycled again to show it recieved the transmission... im not sure of the 99 remote will work on a 95 but im going the parts store in a few and wanted to know if i need to get another remote or it i can use my remote for both cars?

Highly doubt the remotes are compatible with both cars.

That's my thought when the car gave no response to the transmission of the remote, but then again... I would would not be surprised if it was the car as that has been the case majority of the time.

Give me the last 8 digits of your VIN and I'll tell you whatever you need to know about your car. I'll give you the correct p/n for your remotes.

94-95 trans ams use the old boxy style remotes. You cant use the newer style. You can however use box remotes from some other gm cars. I used a remote from a 1993 chevy blazer for awhile as a second remote. Not all square remotes are interchangeable but for some reason the blazer one works on firebirds and camaros. Has to do with what part no. the remote has. As for the keyless brain i believe its in the passenger kick panel under the dash but if your power locks activated when you jumpered 4 and 8 your system is most likely working properly and you just tried to program an incompatable remote. There is no alarm on a 95, only keyless so thats why you dont see an alarm shock sensor.

This is what a 1995 trans am remote looks like.

here's one on ebay for $8.88

Been following this thread. Hoping someone can tell us how to program the remotes. I have the same year car, and have a correct remote that needs programmed.
Thanks for the help.

All ya do is put a jumper wire (I used a fused wire) in the #4 & #8 ports of the data link connector, the doors will lock by themselves. Take ur remote and hold lock and unlock simultaneously for 10 sec...(might be 15?) I forget... Lol but that should program your remote.

Does a 94 have a Alarm? An does it matter if someone installed a aftermarket one but I don't have the remote for it?
