Default 408 carb suggestions

I just ordered my 408 stroker kit from TSP today & wondering if my Holley 750 DP will give it enough fuel? Here's what I have so far.

TSP forged Crankshaft
Lunati H Beam Rods
Wiseco -8cc Dish Pistons
TEA stage 1.5 Heads off a 5.3 (64cc)
Tick Spec'd cam - 247/254 Dur. 624/595 Lift. 108+5 LSA.
Victor Jr.
1 7/8" zoomie pipes.
MSD 6010
JW 3800 rpm custom stall
12 bolt w/ 4.10:1 gears.
32" x 17.5" x 15" ET streets.
going in a 23 T-bucket that weighs 2250 lbs w/ me in it.

Is this carb gonna get the job done? It's a street car only.

Will be fine to 6500 RPM maybe. After than, you will need more to get the power from the engine needing more air.

So what do you think as far as different kinds of carbs? I don't wanna spend all this money & then restrict it with my carb. I looked on Jegs & saw they have a Quick Fuel 830 CFM for $539.00 I'v never even seen one though, not sure how they work? or if that would be big enough?

A 950 HP would be a good choice, but a 850 would work.

We have had good success with the Quick Fuel carbs. Just used one on the Nova I mentioned over the phone yesterday Thomas.

I think a 850 would be the minimum I would go with if purchasing a new carb, but remember what I said...I'm far from a carb guru...lol.

OK, thanks Martin, I'll shop around & see what I can find a deal on. I can't wait to see what that new cam sounds like through my zoomie pipes! My buddy has a similar cam in his 408 but its on a 112 LSA and his sounds badass! I can only imagine what this one will sound & run like!...

Default Carb selection

How about an 1100 CFM SV1, this is replacing my 1000 Holley HP. A 408 will like a big carb.

WOW, that thing looks badass!! Do ya think that would be too much for my 408? it's a street car. I really like the way it looks though!

Tommy I have a similar set up to you...I'm running tfs245 and a solid roller and I'm running a demon 850 that is running a little rich with 83 primary's...I was thinking 850 was going to be over kill but I'm happy with my selection . Hope this helps good luck and keep us posted

Hey, thanks for that info! I appreciate it! I thought I read somewhere that those Demon 850 actually flow considerably more than 850 CFM, while the Holley 850 actually flows less than 850. I did a quick Google search on 850 Demon & couldn't find one for sale, but I'll keep looking knowing that yours runs good with one!

Go on Pro Systems website and fill out a complete tech sheet. They were spot on with my carb...I've messed with it but keep putting it back like they sent it to me lol. That's where car runs fastest. Mine is a LS3 head 364 and mine is their 950 carb....spec sheet says it flows 845 cfm

Keep in mind that no ones advertised cfm rating is actually what it flows on a wet bench except for the Holley HP series.

Patrick at Pro Systems is great to deal with

I was on their website & they look cool, I'm wondering how they run on the street though? From the website it looks like they're racing carbs. This is a street only car, it doesn't even have seat belts in it...lol Are they meant for W.O.T use only?
