Default Level on a oil change

When I change my oil on my 2000 T/A, should the car be level or the front on ramps to get all the oil out of the block. Why I'm asking because I read a post that said they put the front on ramps and the rear on stands to make it level to drain it all the way because the drain plug is on the side of the block. Please advise Thanks

Level is fine, the drain plug is on the side of our pan any way. Jacking up the front would leave more oil in the pan than level.

There's nothing wrong with changing the oil while the car is level. But if you jack just the front up, the oil will drain faster and more of the oil will drain out the pan.

Not to beat a dead horse but I'm getting diff. info on my question. Looking at the plug it seems with the front up more oil will drain. I have to used ramps to get under the car. If all the oil will not drain that way, then I will go to a service center to get it done.

This is not rocket science. You are simply draining your oil. It is not required to change every single drop. As long as you don't leave in half a quart you're doing real good.

If it bothers you that much, spend your money on a jack and some jack stands.

get two jack and jack it up on the pass side , so the oil will go to the drivers side where the drain plug is . simple and done .
